Program Description
RUN FOR A DIFFERENCE was founded to assist
race participants in connecting and sharing talents and convictions
while uniting for and engaging in a worthwhile cause.
Each year hundreds of millions of dollars
are raised for charity. Now everyone can get involved in raising
money for a charity of choice and participating in a life-changing
experience. Race participants can run, walk or wheel the marathon
or half marathon course. Your voice is heard and money is
raised and donated to the charity of choice for each mile.
Each participant is assigned to a team
and a coach is available through RUN FOR A DIFFERENCE as part
of the race event coordination. Your team will be a support
group to motivate and inspire each other. Great friendships
will be established with motivated, warm-hearted people that
we call "doers."
The money raised is used to cover all
travel expenses and hotel accommodations, which are based
on double occupancy and all residual money is donated to the
charity of choice. Every effort is used to find discount expenses
and volunteer work to assure that as much as possible will
go to charity.
For example:
Kris has decided to RUN FOR A DIFFERENCE for The American
Heart Association at the St. George Marathon. During her training
period, she has received pledges for $120 a mile, or $3100
for the entire event. Her travel expenses, including travel
and hotel are approx. $500. The event and training costs are
approx. $300, leaving approx. $2300 given to her charity of
choice. Most participants provide their own travel so more funds go directly to their cause.
This is a great way to meet and connect
for the heart of a cause because race participants are "Running
For A Difference" each step they take. Private Celebration
Events are hosted after each race for race participants and
their invited guest.
